I feel like this is movie gold and hope to see it on Netflix one day. LOL! “Evicting Arrest” or “You Have the Right to be Evicted” could be the name of the movie.

Three charged on several counts after fake arrest

By JEANNE LeFLORE
Staff Writer
Charges have been filed against two McAlester men and a woman for allegedly impersonating task force officers after three McAlester residents were kidnapped and handcuffed. During the kidnapping, the suspects allegedly called for police back-up and then allegedly attempted to book the victims into jail.
On Thursday, Brian Garrison, Gary Mooney and Margie Williford were all arrested and have been charged on several counts.

According to one of the alleged victims, the McAlester Police Department observed what was going on but left the scene.
Veronica Osburn, told the News-Capital, “We were arrested by some people impersonating police officers, they cuffed us, put us in a civilian vehicle with loaded weapons in the car. They kicked in our door.
“The McAlester Police Department sat outside our house while they did this to us.”
She said the trio drew weapons in the house, where children were sleeping.
“We had a new baby in a bassinet while they had their guns drawn,” she said. “We want to let people know that people are going around acting like police.
Tuesday, Osburn said the trio was forced to leave their children at home.
“My sister came was there and took care of the babies,” she said.
Another alleged victim, Clint Nelson said Tuesday the events of that evening were terrifying and he is speaking with an attorney.
According to Pittsburg County Undersheriff Richard Bedford, a landlord who wanted to evict his tenants allegedly hired the impersonators to get the tenants out.
“We had a landlord who wanted these guys evicted and apparently used these impersonators to get them out of his property,” Bedford said.
According to court documents, after the trio allegedly kidnapped their victims, Mooney tried to book them into jail.
Bedford said Mooney, Garrison and Williford first took the victims to the McAlester Police Department where they were told they didn’t have the correct paperwork. The the Mooney tried to get the three residents booked into the county jail.
According to the affidavit, Pittsburg County deputy Jack Suter was working as a dispatcher when one of the alleged impersonators approached him dressed as a border patrol task force officer, carrying a badge and a “police type duty belt.”
Mooney told Suter he had just arrested three subjects for warrants and needed to know where to take them for processing, according to the affidavit.
“When I asked Mooney who he worked for, he said the U.S. Marshal Task Force.” Suter said.
Bedford said at the same time MPD had notified Suter that the three were impersonating task force officers.
Soon after, a gray Dodge Durango arrived in the parking lot of the sheriff’s department, then turned around to leave until they were told by Suter that they weren’t going anywhere, according to the affidavit.
“I told them back up, you aren’t going anywhere and do not reach for your weapon,” Suter said.
That’s when Garrison, got out of the vehicle dressed in a black shirt with white lettering that said “Fugitive Recovery,” a black cap, black tactical pants and a police type duty belt with a pistol holder, according to the affidavit.
Bedford asked Garrison where his gun was. Garrison told Bedford it was in the vehicle, according to the affidavit.
That’s when Bedford checked the vehicle and found a Mossberg tactical pump shotgun that had four live rounds in the magazine, and a fully loaded Glock 27 pistol in the driver’s seat.
Bedford also found the third alleged impersonator, Williford sitting in the front seat and in the back seat were the three handcuffed residents: Osburn, Amanda Sparks and Nelson, according to the affidavit.

No. 1 – McAlester is not near any town where my family lives.

No. 3 – There is not a Thai food restaurant here

No. 4 – There is not a mall here or anywhere close to here

No. 5 – I’m limited when it comes to career options for my degree

No. 6 – The people here typically don’t like McAlester, their own city!

No. 7 – The Italian food here isn’t as good as everyone says it is

No. 8 – The street grid is crooked and I never know where North is

No. 9 – So many people here are criminals, either convicted or alleged

No. 10 – Most of what makes the city unique doesn’t exist anymore, or ceases to happen

No. 11 – Bombs go off at the ammunition plant and shakes everything

No. 12 – There’s no Starbucks, anymore

No. 13 – There’s only one Asian buffet

No. 14 – The people here are terrible drivers

No. 15 – The intersections with a major highway is ridiculous

No. 16 – The neighboring city, Krebs, has an aggressive police force

No. 17 – The real estate market here is outrageously overpriced

No. 18 – The parking spaces for churches are ridiculous

No. 19 – Most of anyone’s shopping needs are found in faraway cities or towns

No. 20 – Boutiques, department stores, etc. overprice most of their merchandise

No. 21 – The McAlester hospital is notorious for a rude staff and bizarre encounters with PAs and doctors

No. 22 – The Wellness Center has a random-size swimming pool, when asked if it was a meter or yard pool I received “What? … I don’t know” A sign says a mile is 119 laps

No. 23 – Drivers are quick to give the middle finger

No. 24 – General encounters with cashiers and clerks are awkward or unfriendly

No. 25 – The well-known coffee shop opens roughly around 7 a.m. and closes right before 2 p.m., really?

No. 26 – No one likes the newspaper, and I work at the newspaper

No. 27 – The new Greek restaurant isn’t good and the service was bad

Back in November I raved about how I wish I could get sick, so I could use my sick days. Well, I got sick and really only used a half day.

Ever since then, my immune system has not been the same. I still cough and every little thing I used to be allergic to as a child has came back with full force.

And I’m still not allergic to Josh’s family cat, Ms. Chrissy. The only cat I know I’m not allergic and hates to be touched. Irony in its finest form.

The new house has so much dust, mold and animal dander that every time I walk into, I immediately get congested. Last week, I slept over to save on gas. It really weakened my immune system. Now any little smell triggers a sneeze or a tingle in the face. And my nose is constantly runny. I really need to recover, or I will be miserable during spring.

Because really, what could a lake dog complain about? If there is anything, it will be pointed out. Really doubt there is any.
Day in, day out is fairly the same for this lake dog. Wake your owners up an hour or so after the sun rises with the sound of your whimpers. I’m sure after eight hours in a warm kennel, the urge to relieve yourself is imminent.
Then, hit the ground running with the day’s new scent, look for squirrels or deer and make sure your best friend, a yellow Labrador retriever, is ready for adventure in the neighborhood that sits along the shore of Lake Eufaula.

This particular dog didn’t always have it so good. The first five to six months of his life are a mystery to the ones that love him.
It was mid-February earlier this year when he stirred a big commotion in the pressroom at the Shawnee News-Star. He was a young pup curious about everything — even the semi truck that nearly ran him over outside the newspaper. When he wandered in the pressroom through the loading dock door he sniffed around everywhere. He was marked with cyan ink from a messy pressman who attempted to keep him from toxic chemicals.
A few ladies gave him some of their dinner and tap water. After he finished, he laid down in the middle of the floor of the creative department at the News-Star. He slept for nearly an hour.
Within that hour he won over the hearts of the News-Star staff — and one particular page designer. There was no way anyone could see putting him back on the streets, so he was taken home for the night to later be put up for adoption through a local shelter.
Finding an adoption program that would immediately take a puppy was difficult and emotional. Days passed and no one claimed the found puppy.

A few names were suggested in the meantime: Blue, Oreo, Harvey or Harley. He never really answered to those names, and must have been unimpressed.
A couple of weeks passed, and that heart-struck page designer found him a home at Lake Eufaula with her boyfriend. Soon after, the pup was named Paul and a solid friendship began. And Paul was very impressed with his new name.
Nowadays, Paul wakes up from his warm kennel to seize whatever the lake life brings him.

Paul loves to walk down to the boat dock to swim. He also visits neighboring dogs, chases neighbors on golf carts and lays out in the sun.
Paul is very much an outdoor dog — except at night when he willingly walks to his kennel indoors to earn his little treat. He picks up his “Stevey” and “Sheepy” and places them in the perfect cuddle position. He usually sighs heavily as if he had an exhausting day of adventure
and naps.

He has a little sweetheart named Zoe, a shih tzu who stays inside most of the time. When she’s allowed to play for a little while, he tones it down for her. Don’t be fooled, she’s a tomboy.

See, nothing to complain about. And if Paul could participate in an interview, the truth would be revealed. However, a wagging tail is a sign of satisfaction, happiness and excitement, right?
